Cindy's Story

Cindy Reed Wilkins, affectionately known as The Chili Queen, is a legendary figure in the chili community. Celebrated as one of the greatest champions in chili competition history, she proudly boasts an impressive 15 first-place awards and over 100 accolades in the realm of championship red chili. Among her most prestigious achievements is her remarkable back-to-back victory at the Terlingua International Chili Championship in both 1992 and 1993, making her the only individual to achieve this feat.

It’s no surprise that Cindy comes from a family dynasty of champions; her Great Uncle won the Championship, her Aunt triumphed in the State Championship, and her Dad placed second, while her Mom famously clinched the World Championship!

For the past 35 years, Cindy has been perfecting her cin chili recipe, meticulously refining every detail from the size of her beef cubes to her unique blend of powdered chili spices. Today, she and her husband Bruce proudly operate Cin Chili Company, where they manufacture and sell her award-winning chili seasoning, hot sauces, Passion Pickles®, Pickle Sips, and a standout CIN CHILI MIX, all of which showcase her culinary genius and passion for flavors.

In 2006, Cindy was selected by the Food Network to compete against Bobby Flay on his show, Throwdown With Bobby Flay. Her segment appeared in the first season, third episode, titled the Chili Challenge, where Cindy made history as the only contestant to tie with Bobby.

Since launching in 2005, Cin Chili Company has expanded from one outstanding product to seventeen and continues to grow.
