Cindy's Story

Cindy Reed Wilkins, famously known as The Chili Queen, is a legend in the chili community. She stands as one of the greatest champions in the history of chili competition, having won an impressive 15 first-place awards and over 100 total in the realm of championship red chili. Among her accolades, her most prestigious achievement is winning the Terlingua International Chili Championship not just once, but twice, in 1992 and 1993, making her the only person to win it back-to-back.

It’s no surprise that Cindy hails from a family dynasty of champions – her Great Uncle won the Championship, her Aunt won the State Championship, and her Dad placed second while her Mom clinched the World Championship!

For 35 years, Cindy has been perfecting her best chili recipe, meticulously adjusting everything from the size of her beef cubes to her unique blend of powdered chili spices. Today, Cindy and her husband Bruce proudly manufacture and sell her award-winning chili seasoning, hot sauces, Passion Pickles®, Passion Pickles® Mixer, and Pickle Sips through their family-owned business, Cin Chili & Company.

In 2006, Cindy was selected by the Food Network to compete against Bobby Flay on his show, Throwdown With Bobby Flay. Her segment was featured in the first season, third episode, titled the Chili Challenge, where Cindy made history as the only contestant to tie Bobby.

Since its inception in 2005, Cin Chili & Company has expanded from one outstanding product to seventeen and counting. Keep an eye on Cindy; she’s a force to be reckoned with in the world of chili, and her brand, wwwcin, is one to watch!
